ALEKSANDRA NIEMCZYK (1977)

Aleksandra Niemczyk holds a Master of Art from the European Academy of Art in Warsaw. Through her studies and her work at The Experimantal Litography Studie in Warsaw, she represents a new generation of young Polish artists working within lithography and oil painting. She constantly develops her visual vocabulary – illustrated by a recent study at the New York Film Academy. Niemczyk uses traditional techniques within oil painting, print and short films. She is a member of The Association of Norwegian Printmakers, and The Association of Norwegian Painters. She received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture in 2004 and from Billedkunstnernes Vederlagsfond in 2005. She has had a number of solo exhibitions in Norway and Polen, and was nominated for the Carnagie Art Award in 2006.
“Visual expressions aren’t just a way to communicate, but a way to observe and contemplate. I collect impulses from surroundings, see forms and colors, analyze and deconstruct them, and recreate them on the canvas.”
