HEIDI HELLAND-HANSEN (1971)

Heidi Helland-Hansen holds a degree in textile design from Parsons School of Design in New York, and from Konstfack in Stockholm, Sweden. She has had a number of exhibitions and is bought by companies including the Office of the Auditor General of Norway, Orcla, Gyldenløve Hotel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The collection “Capture The Moment” is constructed in layers, using a combination of photo, painting and collage. The series centers on people and everyday scenes in the cityscape. Heidi constantly searches for reflections in windows. Places where interesting compositions appear, meetings between people and space for fantasy. For Heidi, all this is like watching theatre or film. It is an important part of the process, where the hunt for the ultimate photo becomes the starting point for a painting. The camera is a key companion at the beginning of a new project. Heidi collects her motives from the different cities she visits. She has been represented by Gallery Ramfjord since 1999.

“The result becomes urban everyday tableaus where abstraction meets
realism”
