HENRIK AA. ULDALEN (1986)
Aarrestad Uldalen is autodidact, working with oil on wood and canvas. He has exhibited in LA Art Show, Scope Basel, Art Copenhagen and Scope Miami. Aarrestad Uldalen is represented in galleries in New York, Los Angeles and San Fransisco as well as in Scandinavia. His paintings explore the dark sides of mind and matter, where melancholia, existentialism and nihilism are juxtaposed with fragile and delicate beauty. Henrik’s works are often presented in an ambiguous, dream-like universe, where he wishes to convey a mood and a feeling rather than a clear narrative.
“His work evokes an M.C. Escher like aesthetic with complex staircases and gravity defying figures that seemingly exist in a suspended sleeping state where they are completely unaware of the restrictions of physical reality.”
